Feed The Future: Nutrition-Sensitive agriculture in Zambia
The Strengthening Partnerships, Results, and Innovations in Nutrition Globally (SPRING) Project, together with select non-governmental organizations operating in Zambia, conducted a technical review of three agriculture and food security activities that have documented results in nutrition-sensitive agriculture.
These activities and respective lead implementing agencies are Mawa (led by Catholic Relief Services (CRS)), Realigning Agriculture to Improve Nutrition (RAIN/RAIN+, led by Concern Worldwide), and Feed the Future Production, Finance, and Improved Technology Plus (PROFIT+, led by ACDI/VOCA). These three agencies have documented successes as well as challenges in implementing nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions; both kinds of experiences collectively present a considerable opportunity for learning and evidence gathering in this growing field. SPRING conducted a systematic review of the key learning points from these three distinct activities.
