Donate in memory
Celebrate a life and make a lasting difference

At Concern we know how very special donations given in memory of a loved one are. These unique donations speak of the love for the person they commemorate and celebrate their life by bringing a positive impact to many others.

If you have recently lost someone special please accept our sincere condolences. We are incredibly grateful to you for considering us at this difficult time.

Choosing how your gift will transform lives

Requesting donations in lieu of flowers

Many people choose to celebrate their loved one’s life by requesting donations instead of flowers at their funeral or memorial service. These very special gifts enable friends and family to show their love and respect by supporting a cause they were passionate about. These gifts bring the comfort of knowing that they will go on to make a lasting difference to some of the world’s poorest people in their name.

We are here to help in any way we can

We appreciate organising a loved one’s funeral can be a difficult time and we are immensely thankful to you for considering requesting donations to benefit our work with the world’s poorest people.

If you would prefer to speak to someone directly please call us on 0800 032 4001 and we can give you all the information you need. Alternatively you can email us on [email protected].

  • If you choose to make a collection in lieu of flowers, please make any cheques payable to Concern Worldwide UK and send them to: In Memory Giving, Concern Worldwide, 47 Frederick Street, Belfast, BT1 2LW
  • Cash donations collected at the funeral can also be sent by making an online payment by debit or credit card for the total amount collected here. We would very much appreciate if you could let us know the person this gift is commemorating by sending us an email on [email protected].
  • You can also make your donation over the phone with a debit or credit card by calling us on 0800 032 4001.
  • Funeral directors are often able to help you collect all gifts and send them through to Concern. If these are made by cash, the funeral director will sometimes offer to bank them and issue a cheque for the total amount, which can then be sent to us.

Making a single or regular donation in memory

Keeping the memories alive with a memorial fund

Donations made in memory are spent where the need is greatest, ensuring they have the maximum impact in helping some of the most vulnerable people in the world's poorest places tackle hunger and transform their lives.

If your loved one was particularly passionate about an area of our work, and you would like to chat about the possibility of supporting it in their memory, please call 0800 032 4001 or email us at [email protected].

Leaving a fitting tribute with a gift in your Will in memory

Choosing to support a charity and a cause is always a reflection of a person’s values and beliefs. Our supporters share our concern that still today, in a world where there is enough food to go around, children, families and whole communities suffer the devastating effects of hunger.

If your loved one shared these values, leaving a gift in your Will to a cause that meant so much to them can be a wonderful way to remember and celebrate their life, while making a lasting difference to the communities we work with.

A wish for a future free from hunger

If you are planning to write or update your Will, you can let your family and friends know your wish to have a collection for Concern in your memory. Just download and print a My Wishes card, attached below, and keep it with your Will.

We recommend you also share your wishes with your loved ones, should your Will be referred to after the funeral.
