Knowledge Matters – Gender Equality
Welcome to this special thematic issue of Knowledge Matters, published in March 2014. To coincide with International Women’s Day, this issue of the publication provides readers with a snapshot of Concern’s work in the area of gender equality.
In keeping with the spirit of organisational learning, the various contributors to this issue highlight both the successes and challenges that have accompanied Concern’s gender equality work. For example, the article by Fiona McLysaght illustrates the learning journey undertaken by the team in Afghanistan. Isla Gilmore’s piece shows how barrier analysis can be a useful tool in designing programmes for behaviour change on gender equality.
This publication covers aid activities implemented with the financial assistance of several donors, including Irish Aid, UK Aid, The European Union and USAID. The ideas, opinions and comments herein are entirely the responsibility of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent or reflect the policies of any donors.
