Knowledge Matters – Lessons from the city
Knowledge Matters is home to high-quality analysis of Concern's work. This edition, published in June 2015, focuses on the complexities of urban poverty, showcasing what we have learned from the cities we work in.
It can and has been argued that urban poverty has fundamentally different characteristics to rural poverty. This issue of Knowledge Matters is dedicated to exploring the various experiences that Concern’s country programmes have had in addressing urban poverty. Each of these experiences presents a unique approach to addressing poverty in the city.
Inside, you will find a wide range of expertise on urban issues including the power of data monitoring in mitigating disasters, pavement dwelling in Bangladesh, urban sanitation in Liberia and new solutions to displacement gleaned from Haiti.
