Knowledge Matters – Results-based Management
Welcome to the latest edition of Knowledge Matters, published in October 2019, which looks at how Concern uses information, data and results from programmes to inform our decision-making and constant programme improvements.
Despite the drive to roll out a results-based management approach in Concern over the last ten years, documentation of best practice is hard to come by. There is however, no doubt that we have made great strides over recent years.
This issue of Knowledge Matters contains articles from Malawi, Rwanda, Liberia, Syria, Lebanon, Ethiopia and our head office in Dublin, Ireland.
It is clear that we are using our data to inform our decision-making, but there is still room to make sure that teams create the space for reflection and adjustment and then document this as evidence. The need to continually reflect on what data we need to collect, how we collect it and what we then do with it, is simple in theory but always more difficult in practice!
This publication covers aid activities implemented with the financial assistance of several donors, including Irish Aid, UK Aid, The European Union and USAID. The ideas, opinions and comments herein are entirely the responsibility of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent or reflect the policies of any donors.
